I attend George Mason University and it is VERY diverse. We have a large population of Muslim students. I’m going to try and get this shown at our school’s cinema, but I wonder how they would perceive this.
Amid a strict Muslim rearing and a social life he’s never had, Tariq (Evan Ross) enters college confused. New peers, family and mentors help him find his place, but the 9-11 attacks force him to face his past and make the biggest decisions of his life.
Please, if you haven’t seen this movie - you NEED to see this movie. This movie was CENSORED from the public theaters after debuting in select theaters. I saw ONLY 1 commercial & then it was gone.
It covers so many aspects of being Muslim in America, especially in the shadow of 9/11 attacks. The complexities show the good and the bad of many different people on status, race, and life-experiences. We need movies like this, that are REAL and a wake-up call. lordy i havent posted in a min. happy labor day!! i am enjoying this day to FINALLY get my room together. I have been at mason for a week and everyone asks me when they come over why i still have suitcases and bins full of shit. well ‘scume! i have other things to do than to decorate. soooo that is what i will be doing today cause i have no work or classes!
this is one of my favorite shirts i got a bit ago at this giant thrift store called unique. they have a huge selection of clothes, jewelry, bags, etc and i love going there.
